Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

Year 4 and 5 Tag Rugby Tournament

On Wednesday Mrs Thornton, Mrs Chamberlain and Mr Grice took 2 teams of children up to Bredon Hill Middle School for a cluster schools Tag Rugby tournament. There were 9 children in each team, one Year 4 and one Year 5 team who competed alongside 7 other schools from around the hill.

They all performed superbly and showed off their excellent skills and team work, both securing second place overall. They worked very hard to secure lots of tries and used strategy and determination to help them when faced with tough opposition. The children had a great time and really enjoyed playing against other schools and being involved in a competitive situation.

They certainly did us proud as they always do!

Here's what the children thought about their experience:

"It was nerve wracking when the matches were close, but exciting when we won." Monty.

"I enjoyed working together with my friends." Harry.

"At the end of the matches we fist bumped and hugged, it was fun." Annabelle.

"It was lots of fun because it was really muddy!" Phoebe.

"I managed to get 4 tags, it was hard work!" Rory.

"It was really fun and definitely worth going." Millie.

"I found it really good fun and I hope I get picked again. We won one game 8-0!" Ben.

"It was lovely to see children from other schools." Gracie.
