Shaping Bright Futures Together

Years 4 and 5 STEM Workshop

On Tuesday, our Year 4 and 5 children were extremely lucky to take part in a STEM workshop which aimed to make links between Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. They were tasked with designing a robot using KNex for a supermarket warehouse. The children worked in mixed Year group pairs and had to consider how their robot would reach the item from the shelf and then transport it to the check out area. The model had to have a moving mechanism to retrieve items like a robot arm.

Logan and Monty were chosen by the STEM workshop leader because they had closely followed the brief and included all of the criteria in their model. They were also chosen as their team work skills were noted.
